There are pivotal moments in life that are absolutely unexpected and change everything - starting again becomes the only path forward. Some are quiet redirections while others are completely derailing. These disruptions can be called plot switches, breakdowns or cliffs. I experienced mine as crashes - and I've had a few. The first major crash happened in my early 40s, It resulted in my re-evaluating my relationship to my work, to my friends and to myself, Ultimately, after a few years and many tears I learned to listen to my heart and to tend to my dreams and needs. That crash led me back to grad school into a mental health counseling practice built around trauma therapy, neuroscience and eventually specializing in late diagnosed Autism and ADHD.
